1.Presenting the topic of the lesson

  • Interaction: T-SS
  • Timing: 2′
  • Monitoring: Check whether the topic is understood by everyone.
  • Feedback: (only if needed)
  • Steps: Teacher presents the topic to ss

2.Presenting the Cambridge Test Chart

  • Interaction: T – SS
  • Timing: 2′
  • Monitoring: Check whether the ss have any questions.
  • Feedback: (only if needed)
  • Steps: Since BEC is not a very common exam, it is nice to show “students” where they are (will be) in the CEFR.

The Big Idea

3.Setting the scene

  • Interaction: T – SS  / S-SS  / SS-SS
  • Timing: 10′
  • Monitoring: Teacher walks around the room and checks whether the ss have any questions.
  • Feedback: focus on vocabulary and pronunciation
  • Steps: Students go over the bullet points shown on the board / make sure they make notes.
  • The teacher also makes notes on the board to be used in the writing step – next.

-Which 2 of its practices you would adopt

-Why your company would benefit from them

Writing Part 2 Report

4. Writing Task (200-250 words) 

  • Interaction: T – SS (instructions)  / Ss (writing)
  • Timing: 40′
  • Monitoring: Teacher walks around the room and checks whether the ss have any questions.
  • Feedback: focus on vocabulary and spelling
  • Steps: The teacher uses the report website to elicit the layout (paragraphs and headings expected) Students start writing their report.

On the exam day, applicants will have 1 hour and 10 minutes to write 2 compositions. Part 1 (120-140 words) is compulsory (as usual) and part 2 (200-250 words).

  • Re-visit the topic of the lesson
  • Mention the importance of the time tracking
